There is nothing quite like the feeling you are one with the natural environment, especially in Costa Rica where one experiences a symphony of birdsong, often accompanied by the distant roar of the howler monkeys. Casa la Onda’s open-air Balinese-inspired Great Room combines relaxation spaces for conversation along with kitchen and dining spaces that flow uninterrupted to the infinity pool and surrounding garden.

Lower-floor bedrooms and baths

Each bedroom at Casa la Onda offers views over the grounds to the ocean. King-sized beds and air-conditioning make each room a pleasant retreat from the heat of the day and assures a good night’s rest. Each room also features a sitting area, a bathroom with double-sink vanities, and private outdoor covered shower and lavatory. Also, a powder room is conveniently located in the Great Room.

Ultra Suite addition

Perched atop the existing 3-bedroom Casa la Onda villa sits the newly constructed 2nd floor “Ultra” suite, which now allows us to accommodate parties of up to 8 in the main villa compound (and 2 more for a total of 10 when adding our Casita la Onda guest house across the street).

Casa la Onda Ultra features breathtaking ocean views from the living room and jungle views from the spacious bedroom. Now add a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom and luxurious furnishings and you may never wish to leave.

Casita la Onda

Casita la Onda is the kind of place where you can imagine Ernest Hemingway penning a novel. This lovely tiny house offers expansive views over a jungle valley. Couches by day become a king-sized bed or two single beds by night. A kitchenette features a mini-fridge and induction cooktop while the bathroom features impressive jungle views while you shower. Rent it separately, or as part of your stay at Casa la Onda.

The Experience

Access & Security

Casa la Onda is part of a small, private community with a security gate. Guests receive a code to this gate and also a code to the Casa compound gate. 4X4 vehicles or ATVs are required to access the property.

Vehicle Requirement: 4x4 or ATV for Hill Access

Concierge & Services

Our concierge service is available to assist you before and during your stay: car and ATV rentals, horseback rides at sunset, zip lining, massage or booking your own private chef. We are always at your service.

Phenomenal stay at Casa La Onda. Its secluded location and private pool offered the best views of the ocean and jungle hills. The house was spectacular, and exactly as advertised. Our family of seven stayed here for our first visit to Santa Teresa. Incredibly responsive host, Tomas, who also set us up with lots of local activities. The pool and the view are 10/10. The road is definitely dusty and requires a 4x4, but worth the trek up and out of town.
